Product Care: Cleaning, Drying and Storage Basics
A simple care routine can protect your products, support hygiene and help them perform as intended.
General educational information for adults 18+; not medical advice. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the specific product you own.
Good product care begins with one rule: follow the instructions for the exact product you own. Materials, motors, charging ports and water-resistance ratings vary, so a method that is safe for one product may damage another.
Before first use
Read the complete care guide and check the product for visible damage. Confirm whether it is waterproof, water-resistant or intended only for surface cleaning. Remove packaging, but keep the instructions and warranty information.
If the product is rechargeable, use the supplied or manufacturer-approved charging equipment.
After each use
Unless the manufacturer gives different instructions:
- Turn the product off and disconnect it from charging cables.
- Clean it promptly using the method stated in the product manual.
- Pay attention to seams, textured areas and removable parts.
- Rinse only when the product is approved for rinsing.
- Dry it completely before storage.
Do not submerge a product merely because its surface can be wiped or rinsed. Never boil, bleach, place in a dishwasher or use strong household cleaners unless the manufacturer specifically authorizes that method.
When products are shared
Discuss boundaries before sharing. Follow the manufacturer’s cleaning guidance between users and between different body areas. A compatible new barrier may be used when appropriate, and it should be changed between users or body areas.
Products with cracks, tears, peeling surfaces or damage that prevents thorough cleaning should be taken out of use.
Drying matters
Moisture trapped in seams, storage pouches or battery compartments can damage a product and create an unpleasant storage environment. Let cleaned products air-dry completely on a clean surface before placing them in a pouch or drawer.
Store products separately and securely
Use a clean, dry pouch or container. Separate products when the manufacturer recommends it, because prolonged contact between different materials can sometimes damage surfaces.
Keep products away from:
- Direct sunlight and extreme heat
- Dust, lint and loose powders
- Sharp objects
- Children and anyone who should not have access
- Loose batteries or chargers that may damage the product
A consistent routine—clean, inspect, dry and store—makes care easier and helps you notice damage before the next use.
